Thankful Thursday

Happy Thankful Thursday. Today I wanted to share with you all how thankful I am to have my family all together, safe and with power on in our home. (Thank you to all the hard working AEP guys/gals for all you have done. Thank you to my FIL for working so many hours to help us all get our power on, while going home at night to a  house with no power himself.) The storms here have been crazy. High winds knocking down trees and taking out power. I am so grateful we are finally home and together. For almost a week I took my son and I to my parents. I had made these plans prior to the storms but we hadn't planned on staying that long. Its always hard when you are away from your other half for days on end, even when you are happily with family. It was nice to have a place to be while the power was out and Joe came to spend time with us over the weekend too. So the two of us took advantage and went on a date! It was a BLAST. We went to the local drive in.

We borrowed my dads truck, I packed up two lounge chairs, snacks, blankets and pillows- PERFECT

While at my parents house we had some fun

We went and saw my brother play baseball

Our son LOVES sports

Then one night when I couldn't sleep...

I checked out my old closet and found my wedding dress. 

I knew it was there but kinda forgot.

I haven't tried it on since we got married. 

I still love it and it takes me back to that wonderful day

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, God loving man by my side. 

I couldn't ask for a better man

After a great evening we headed back home to a surprise showing of fireworks

These were our littles first fireworks and he LOVED them

He kept saying "fireworks, awesome, more, fireworks"

It was too cute

So of course, on July 4th, we headed out to see some more fireworks.

It's been some late nights but so worth it

I love family time

I am So thankful

SO very Thankful!

I know it has been over a week but life has been moving so fast!

Last week I took a trip home to see my parents and get my hair cut. It was very much time and I am loving it!

Then on monday I was able to enjoy a b-e-a-utiful day outside with my family! 

It was perfect!!

Tuesday my husband surprised me with flowers! 

I was very excited to get us all outside and start getting dirty, and dirty we got!!

I didn't realize how much dirt & mulch could stick to a boy LOL

Is was another PERFECT day and a fabulous start to our week!

Then the BIG day! 

Wednesday May 2nd... I turned the big 30! 

I still can't believe it! At first it was a hard pill to swallow but now it's an exciting thing in my mind!

Its the start of a whole new decade for me. One filled with love, joy, & excitement! I can't wait to see what this decade holds for me and my family!

God has BIG plans! 

I AM SO VERY THANKFUL FOR ALL GOD HAS GIVEN ME!

Thankful Thursday!

I am very thankful today!! My son is not sick, my FIL is home from the hospital and doing well, I have an amazing husband who makes me feel loved, a roof over our heads and food to eat! It's a good day!

Let me tell you what my sweet husband did today that made my day, and he probably doesn't even realize it.  Today he sent me a simple text that said "I love you". Yes that text made me smile but that wasn't it... A few months ago he had to go away for work and before he left we took a picture of us together- just something to have while we were apart. (and a new tradition I am starting) Well this morning he sent that picture back to me... I couldn't believe he still had it. It just melted my heart and made my day!

I love you honey and I am so thankful for you!!!

I am also very thankful for my coffee run yesterday! This was much needed today

My sweet sweet HEALTHY little guy! 

He made the trip with me to get my coffee :) He loved the sheep that was waiting to greet him at kohl's. The sheep had to stay and greet other little boys though

Oh yes, I AM VERY THANKFUL! God has been good to us! 

Even when we struggle, I know God is still there and He will get us through!

5 Things I'm Loving Right Now

I am very grateful to all the lovely ladies who remind us to look at our lives and share what we are thankful for. God is good and I need to always remember to be thankful! 

5 Things I am Loving Right Now!

1. Playgrounds

We have such an amazing time outdoors! I think he would stay outside forever if I let him. 

The problem is always trying to get him to come back in the house...

2. Spring Time

Oh spring time, how I love thee. I don't love sneezing but I love this weather! 

70 degrees is perfect! Last year we went from cold to hot and forgot to bring in spring :) 

I am very thankful for some of the early spring days we have had!

 3. Friendship

I am very blessed by the people in my life and I am thankful for my friend Holly! 

I am excited about the growth and change God is going to be doing in both our marriages as we go through our Bible Study Series "Love & Respect"

4. Family Hockey Games! 

Oh what fun it is to get out and have some fun as a family!!!

 5. All the fun of dirt!

HAHA he is ALL BOY and loves his dirt and sticks!
