30 Day Photo Challenge! Day 1
While checking out Chrissy's blog at Boerman Ramblings (which by the way, I just LOVE! So... maybe I have only spoken to her a few times, via internet, but she is amazing! You have to check out her blog! So honest and real! I just love her! ok, enough before I sound creepy) now what was I saying... oh ya, while reading she blog I ran across this challenge. Embrace The Camera
I am joining Emily over at The Anderson Crew for Embrace the Camera. I love this idea and hope to keep it up!
On Labor Day I got to spend the day with family and have a blast! It was the first cool day and what a great day to be outside! We bundled up our little guy and headed out to a ball game. My little guy is just too cute to not snap a shot of and I did embrace the camera and get a picture of us together!

I just love him! He was such the cheering fan!

Inspiration Workshop: BOOKS
I am linking up again with Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop- Prompt: Inspiring Books
When I think of a book- the first kids book to come to mind is my sons ABSOLUTE favorite!
If you have a little one you really should get this book. I received mine as a gift and then went and purchased a few more so the grandparents had one and I now have one to give as a gift. (I found mine at Marshals for $3.99!)
It is truly the cutest thing to read to my little guy. Its just a short book and you will have it memorized after a few times through. There are mirrors on every other page for them to enjoy.
This is my go to, to get him excited- just pull out this book and he is happy.
However- when he was younger and tired, he used to cry when someone, other than mommy or daddy, would read it to him. When they got to the "Blah" part he would scream.... It was kinda funny.

Now for us adults, I have to tell you about my favorite trilogy of all time!

These 3 books are some of the most touching, moving, and INSPIRING books I have EVER read! Now I will tell you that it does start out slow, but stick with it and I PROMISE you will not regret it!

My son now, when we read "Look at frog stick out his long pink tongue, Blah"

Family Blocks
Here is a project I have been working on for months. Its horrible that I never finished it.
I found this idea of making blocks for our son over at Our Family Four and I really wanted to try it with my family and cousins that our my sons age. He doesn't get to see them very often so I wanted their faces to be seen daily. (Atleast once I get them done)
-First- I was lucky enough that my father in law had some wood pieces he wasn't using and cut them down to size for me.
-Then I searched for pictures of family members I wanted to use, cropped the picture to just their face and printed them off my printer. Once I had them printed and cut apart and set them aside.
-Next I cut up textured paper I wanted to use to decorate the rest of the sides. With the paper, you want each family to have their own color paper so the family blocks match. (see my picture below to better understand)
-Once I had everything cut, I then mod podged the block and placed the picture on one side and textured paper on the others and mod podged all but one side of the block (I did that side once the others were dry).
-Once the block was dry I then sanded the edges down for both a distressed look and to get rid of any sharp edges. This is where it takes some time because I am hand sanding and did not get them all done.
-After that there is one last step, the names on the blocks- for this you can do it different ways. I chose to write the names on with marker. To be neat you could have the names printed on the paper before you cut it. I chose to write the names on the space behind the picture.
