I can't believe how time flies and these last few weeks I have been reminded just how precious our time together is.
The first week of August I got to go on vacation with my husband and his family. We had an amazing time. While there, I found out my grandma (and best friend) was admitted to the hospital.

I love her so much!!
She hasn't been well for the last few years and was having stomach pain. I got home in time to see her before surgery Saturday Aug 11th. She made it through surgery, was stable, and so my husband, son & I made the rest of the trip home on Sunday. Monday morning I received a call that they thought my grandma had a heart attack. She was taken to a cartio unit in another hospital. I threw my suitcase back in the car, grabbed my son and headed back to my parents to be with my grandma and family. I can't tell you what a blessing it was to be with my family (& extended family) for a whole week. Having the family together at the hospital was such an amazing, emotional time for us all. My grandma is still holding on but she is being moved to a "comfort care" facility today. We are praying for peace and that Gods love is shown through all this.

He was so amazing. We had 9-10 hours days at the hospital.

During this time we also celebrated my son's 2nd birthday- August 18th
Here are some pictures and reason to celebrate during this hard time.

My little family!
Another party for this little boy
Its been such a busy, emotional and tiring few weeks. I am so grateful for family, friends and God's support. This morning I was so completely exhausted, as I have been. My son even let me sleep in a little bit and I was still tired. I got my coffee and sat down to read my daily devotional from My Utmost for His Highest. Today was a reminder to Ask the Lord to put awareness of Himself in me and stop focusing on my self-awareness. The verse today was
Matthew 11:28, "Come to me all who are weary and I will give you rest." It couldn't have been a more perfect time to hear this. I closed my eyes, prayed and gave God my stress and worry. When I said Amen I felt more awake then I have all week. God promises to hear us when we cry out to Him. What an awesome God we serve!
Don't forget to take time and give Him your burdens. Have a great week.
Sincerely,
Natassia
Me and my beautiful grandma (April 2012) I love her so much!!
This isa beautiful blog entry :) YES, be thankful!! I hope your Grandma remains comfortable :) I know what you mean when you wrote of the comfort you feel when you leave your worries to our Lord. Not long ago I was lying in bed overcome with worries, I prayed out loud, "Lord, I cannot do this without You, please help me with this, for I cannot do this alone"....at that very moment my burden had been lifted, and I gave Praise. God is good! I will continue to hold your family in prayer, be well :)

This reminds me of the time we had with my grandfather before he passed. I cherish those moments so so dearly. Not many families get the opportunity that we've both been given. We were able to see the comforting arms of Jesus wrap around us as we all crammed into his hospital room. I, too, cherish the the fact that all of the family was together rejoicing and celebrating my grandfather's life. With all that being said, it's still not easy and I will continue to pray for your family. Love ya!

ReplyDeleteYour grandma is a great example of the proverbs 31 lady. She has blessed your family and now all of you are there to bless her. Love your pics. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love! Rose

ReplyDeletePraying for your family Nat. As hard as it is to see her sick, treasure the time you have. I sometimes wish my brother could have held on a little longer to say goodbye to us but i know the Lord had different plans. It looks like your son had a few great birthday parties! I love the little train hat.
