Friday Coffee Date

Good morning friend, I am glad you stopped in for some coffee. I have tea, pop or water if you would rather. I want to say that I really enjoy these friday coffee dates. It sometimes the one day that I am able to really sit back and share.

Its been a good week, it actually went really fast for me. I am still in shock it is friday. I will say that the last few days I have been taking it a little easy. I am having some abdominal pain and not able to get around as quickly as I would like. {nothing I can't handle though} I would just ask that you say I quick prayer that God reach down and take it away. I know He can!
In Nov I ended up in the ER with a ruptured cyst and I am praying this doesn't turn into a replay. So for now, I am taking it easy. I am truly blessed with an amazing husband who has been so great. He gets me pain meds, makes me dinner, helps around the house and this morning he got our son out of bed before he left for work. Giving me a little more time to relax in bed til I hear little feet coming in my room. {I do love seeing him come find me!}

This week has been cooler but the last two days have been nice so the little and I spend some much needed time outside! I am pretty sure he would live outside forever if I let him.
He absolutely LOVES to collect sticks. He walks around saying "sticks, sticks" I love it!

He even put some down to go chase after a little girl on her bike. Oh boy...
But what a cutie!!

I have also been busy reading The Hunger Games. I am sure you have all heard of it by now. I think I was a little behind and just started a week ago. {oh and just some info, if you are an amazing prime member you can borrow these books from amazon for free!)

I finished the first book and am starting the second. I stayed up til 2am the other night to finished book one. I didn't want to go see the movie before I finished the book and I am really excited for a girls not out with a friend! Now to find a day that works- YAY!

I am also reading another book for small group (Love & Respect by Dr Emerson Eggerich) I mentioned it last week and so far it has been amazing. I truly am looking forward to whatever God has in store for us and the other 3 couples in our group!

Anyway, I better run. My son has finished his breakfast and its time to play.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I look forward to hearing from you and anything you have been up to!

Don't forget, you can have another cup with Chrissy from Boerman RamblingsNay form Cover to cover,  Faith from The Life of Faith and link up with Alissa from  Rags to Stitches.

Coffee Date Anyone

Happy Friday!! Welcome! If you were here for coffee this morning I would give you a hug and tell you how I have been enjoying this weather! It has been between 70-80 the last week or so. AMAZING! I have been soaking it up with my son and have been a little MIA on my blog. I do miss everyone, but it has been great spending the extra time with my family!

Yesterday we spent some time outside with the water table! What fun! We had our neighbors around, the kids played and got soaked as the adults chatted. What a wonderful evening!

I am so glad we got out yesterday because it is supposed to rain this weekend. We have been thinking about going to Fort Rapids this weekend. We have some free tickets that expire at the end of the month. I really want to make sure we use them! How fun would this be!!

It has just been a great week spent at the park, in the yard, working in the flower beds and I have also spent some more time "in my shop".  It has been fun organizing and thinking up new necklaces.
These are some of my recent favorites!  You can find them here, here & here

On another note, I am excited to start a new study this coming week with my tuesday small group. We are starting the book Love and Respect. We have 4 couples in the group and this is going to be a great study on marriage!
What is Love and Respect? Here is a bit from the website

We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts when feeling disrespected and a wife reacts when feeling unloved.  We asked 7,000 people this question: when you are in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved or disrespected?  83% of the men said "disrespected."  72% of the women said, "unloved."  Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue!

I look forward to what God has in store for us all during this study. I have heard people stay how it changed their marriage! I am not saying I am unhappy in mine but I am excited to learn and hear from God, my husband and the rest of the group!

Before I go- we wanted to say "Thank you" for being apart of my life! I appreciate you all very much. I am thankful for your comments, your love and support!

Ps- this video cracks me up- he is such a happy kid, then when he gets in the car he has what we call his "car face" he seems to get very serious. It is too funny! (and yes, we are parked) :)

One more thing-  I won a year subscription to inlinkz and have always wanted to host a link party. I have had a few wonderful ideas from others and thought I would ask you all here too.
Do you have an idea for a great link party? Would you link up with me??  I would love it and would love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Please share!!

Don't forget, you can have another cup with Chrissy from Boerman RamblingsNay form Cover to cover,  and Alissa from  Rags to Stitches.

Gathered Thoughts with Love Feast Table

Today, after a while of not blogging, I am excited to be a part of the Gathered Thoughts Link up over at Love Feast Table. My lovely hostess, Lani from It's My Life sent me my prompt.

Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance.
-Brian Tracy

Reading this prompt made me instantly think of my life and allowing God to be in control. Every day would require less energy, less stress, and less planning. Allowing me to go farther, giving me more peace and joy when I give each and every moment to God.

Like last night. We had quite the storm come through and usually I am pretty calm and unafraid but something in me changed when I became a mom.  I felt I was in charge of keeping my son safe- ME and me alone. It was up to me to make sure that he was kept away from harm. I was a stressed mess. My husband found it rather funny, and my son didn't notice but I was living in fear.

Something I need to remember! Because even with the dark skies, rain and wind, God was and IS still in control. As a believer myself, I however still had fear. I wasn't trusting God to take care of us. I was relying on myself and my husband to "control" our outcome. There is NO reassurance in that! I was reading last night about being in constant communication with God so that in time of trouble we know how to talk to Him and give Him control.  It made me ask myself...
Am I in constant communication with God, every day, in every way with everything? Will I hear God voice when He tries to speak to me? Have I given Him control of my life- completely!?

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves, then, to God” (NIV). Giving God control of my life. Stop trying to be in charge.

Colossians 3:15 says, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”
We all long for peace and joy, and I truly believe we can all find it in Christ.

Let Go and Let God

I don't know what this prompt makes you think of, but for me it was God and letting go, letting Him take control, allowing me to find peace in the plan He has for me and my family.

My day- that simple

What a weekend and what a day!! I had a blast this weekend with friends and then on Sunday after church another friend of mine, Andrea from BeadWorks, took me to a Gem & Jewelry Show. It was my first one ever and it was fun! I was so overwhelmed!  I was able to find lots of goodies though!!

The picture shows one ladies booth and only about 1/4 of what she had! I have been wanting to add more accent beads to my pieces and to be able to offer birthstones! Check out what I was working on today!

I needed to organize and so I tore things apart to figure out where I wanted to stick it.
Unfortunately I got easily side tracked by pretty things...

My NEW birthstones! I love these and had to make something with it!
I only have one child and wanted to show more crystals than just one
so luckily I have lots of cousins and one with 4 lovelies!
I hope she likes it :)

Here is what I made!
I am very excited to have these birthstones!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I have been up to!

I do want to share something else with you...
I am working on my becoming more joyful in everything in my life. The good, the bad and the ugly.
So Its a bit of a crazy rainy day and today at lunch this was my attitude!
I am very thankful for the leftovers from last night... I am still thankful after I dropped said leftovers all over myself and the kitchen floor :) I am even more thankful Nolan loves yogurt! ♥

The Joy of the Lord is my Strength! -Nehemiah 8:10

He also puts a BIG smile on my face!

Enjoy your day!
