Friday Date

Good morning friend! Welcome to my home! Come in, get cozy, grab a drink. Coffee, Tea, Water, Pop whatever your fancy. Please don't mind the smoke or the fire alarm, I am cleaning my oven. I was a little sloppy yesterday and made a bit of a mess. The poor dog is scared to death by the fire alarms, while my son doesn't even stop to take notice. If you were looking for a quiet place to come, unfortunately my home is anything but this morning. My son and I were just being quite loud for 8am and laughing during every minute! Nothing seems to make my heart happy like my sons smile & laugh.

(A fly landed on his finger)

This week I have been a little quite and have spent more time with my son during the day. Its been a good week. I am turning my focus a bit. Lately I have been so worried about everything internet and I lost focus of what was important- spending my moments with my family and God. I allowed the stress to get to me and it was showing. I mentioned before that I am reading Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World, this book is reminding me of what is truly important. I am still a work in progress but I know God isn't finished with me yet.

I was reading Jesus Calling just now and wanted to share with you.

JESUS CALLING - March 9 - by Sarah Young
REST IN MY RADIANT PRESENCE. The world around you seems to spin faster and faster, till everything is a blur. Yet there is a cushion of calm at the center of your life, where you live in union with Me. Return to this soothing Center as often as you can, for this is where you are energized: filled with My Love, Joy, and Peace.
The world is a needy place; do not go there for sustenance. Instead, come to Me. Learn to depend on Me alone, and your weakness will become saturated with My Power. When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people without using them to meet your needs. Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.
Galatians 5:22; 1 John 4:12

What I have been praying for lately has been to find pure and utter JOY in every moment. To not let anything pass me by.  To have joy even in sorrow and pain.  PURE JOY!

I know this is a short coffee date today but I invite you to share with me. Do you struggle with balancing everything? Husband, Kids, maybe a shop and the online world? I would love to hear from you this morning.

Then when you have a minute and need a refill, head over and have another cup with Chrissy from Boerman RamblingsNay form Cover to coverFaith from The Life of Faith and Alissa from  Rags to Stitches.

  4. The Balance of Life DOES kill me! But I just take one step at a time...and like you said, be in the moment in every moment...doesn't matter how many are happening at the same time!:)

  5. I love Jesus Calling. My hubs and I listen to it on his phone all the time. What an awesome reminder that God is constantly at work in our lives and we need to stay focused on him. I'm often distracted during the day and am learning to focus more on being in the moment with my kids and not worrying about being online or all the things I "should" or "need" to do.

  6. Great post, Nat. So honest and encouraging. I feel like I am right there with on so much of what you said today :) God's been using the Mary heart book to speak to me a lot lately, and Jesus Calling is my next online purchase. Can't wait to get that one.
    Much love,

    Amy
