Can I be honest?

I am feeling overwhelmed and its my own doing. I am a person who has to be organized to function and lately I am NOT organized! It makes my day to day tasks overwhelming. The thing about me is, I LOVE to multi-task! It makes me feel in control and that I CAN get things done. However, these last few weeks I am so unorganized and can't seem to get anything done. My house is a mess, I don't do laundry enough, I haven't made a meal for my husband in about 2 weeks (thankfully he has been cooking), I am slow at returning emails, I am bad at organizing my thought for this blog, I still have yet to complete my guest posts for some amazing ladies.... all these things (and more) need to just get done! I have turned into the woman who has so much to do that she stares at it all and gets nothing done. Its horrible! These are things that are easily checked out if I just get moving! Yet here I am again, sitting and talking about it.  I need to say it out loud. Maybe I want to hear that others are going through this too or hear advise on how to check off my to do list or just a kick in the pants- someone telling me to stop staring at my messes and just get it done!

Anyone else struggling lately?
I will say that circumstances around me have changed a little, and my son is now not wanting to nap at his usual time- but there is no reason I can't get stuff done!
Someone wanna give me a push!?

  2. You're not a long sugarpie! It's called being human (ha!)...I'd love to just squiggle my nose (like Bewitched, remember?) and everything was done or, at least, the to-do list organized!

  4. Hey! I understand the feeling! Just remember God will help you! Here is some advice. Often I make lists. I too like to be organized. I set daily goals. i.e. 2 loads of laundry, clean bathrooms. I just take things day by day. I am a list Queen! It helps me get things accomplished. I also set time limits. like half hour on the computer, half hour to work out, half hour to clean/straighten. You could start with things that are most important. i.e. set a daily goal for your shop, blog, laundry and whatever else. sometimes this helps. Also on Thursdays I make my grocery list for the week and do a menu plan. Hope this helps! Your not alone. Just take things day by day and rest in God's Grace knowing that you will get things done. Don't overwhelm yourself, set daily goals!

  5. We will all get overwhelmed sometimes. I currently am in over my head a bit. My inbox is full and I am running a fundraiser for the school, planning a valentines party, doing a makeover on our bedroom, have sick kids, messy house and lots of obligations to meet in blogger world. Sit back take a deep breathe and just take it a day at a time. Sometimes days of one task at a time is more productive then overloading yourself with multiple things that don't get finished. Always a work in progress. xoxo

  6. I can totally relate. I kept saying after the holidays things would slow down... they've only sped up. All good things, but it's so overwhelming that I too just end up starting at my ever growing check list. I kicked butt last night. I literally wrote my list out in order of priority and just started at the top of my list! I promise once you get going it'll flow, just hard to get out of the rut :) Hang in there! You can do it!! XO

  7. Keep your head up sweet girl. We all go through seasons like that. Just remember to do what is important to you and your family. Don't allow bloggy world to creep in and minimize the importance of spending time with your family. I'm so guilty of this a lot. I see other blogs and make to do lists because... If they're doing it, I need to do it too so that my blog will be "good" too!... Not true. Prioritize your list based on YOUR standards and what's important to you. Mark them off slowly and exhale. You got this! You're doing a great job!

  8. i feel the same way, and whats worse? im sitting on my couch surfing the web to avoid my never ending to do list. and...and i dont even have kids. it should be that hard for me to keep up an apartment but it is. i have laundry climbing its way up my wall, and my craft room...... ive been cleaning it and organizing it for the past 72 hours. it seems to never be done. so i say take a break, like an actual dont think about it, dont stress, take your little one to the park or to the play place, have a cup of coffee and relax. then when you get home put some chicken and veggies in the slow cooker, and tackle the first 3 things on your list.

  10. You could have described me exactly ! These last few months I have been so all over the place and unorganized... totally unlike me! I feel so overwhelmed sometimes. But, I realize there are gonna be days and weeks like these and I guess it really makes me appreciate the good days where I feel like I am getting a million things done. :)

  11. you are not alone girl --- like you, i have a list that overflows to the next day because at midnight i can't keep my eyes open any longer. i regularly push things to tuesday just to get rid of list that screams "MONDAY" at the top of it!

be in the Word. be in community. play with that sweet boy because moments are fleeting with him. set up a small schedule of 1-2 household tasks a day for the week OR just focus on 1 thing a day {ie: i do all of my laundry on monday. if it doesn't get done, it waits for another week. yep, it's a gross enough thought that it rarely doesn't get done on monday!}.

  12. Love Aimee's advice. I do one part of the laundry load a day (put them in the wash one morning, switch it over the next while putting another load in the wash, and it keeps cycling like that. I HATE putting clothes away, though - so that is more my problem. :)

And as far as blogging... I love reading everything you post - whenever you post it!
