Inspiration Workshop: Family Room

I am linking up with Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop and the prompt this week is
FAMILY ROOM

My family room is NOT formal, finished or food free. We LIVE in this family room (also known as my green room). When we first bought the house (BEFORE kid(s)) I did think it would look somewhat different. {chuckle} It is very much a toy room, however I am slowly taking it back and moving most  of the toys to our loft area. We do have another "living" room where the adults can be. But this is where our FAMILY plays.

We won our furniture when we got married (it works but is not quite what I would pick out) Still we are thankful! The bamboo if from our wedding reception and the sign was given to me on my birthday- made by my sister in law.

HOWEVER,
It does look like THIS most of the time...

BUT, I am ok with that.
I love the smiling little face on
the little boy who makes the mess.

But as much as I do love our family room,
I would love to one day have a room of my own like this:

  4. The green you chose for your walls is beautiful! My family room looks the same as yours does most of the time, in fact, I have just resigned to calling it the play room. :)

  6. What a great color! I just love how kids transform a home with their very presence. One can have the most fabulous decorating ideas, but really, it's kids that give your "nest" its messy little feathers.

  7. thank you ladies! I always wondered how I would handle the mess of a kid and I actually do not mind it one bit. Granted I only have 1 so far :) but it has been fun. And luckily I have another room I can go to and be an adult haha And I did get to pick out the green color for the room and it turned out great thanks!
